I was born in the Midwest but grew up in Southern California. My father was a professor of endocrinology at Loma Linda University Medical Center and he encouraged me to study medicine. I am a single mother of two. Our family also includes three dogs, four parakeets, and several goldfish. I love to garden and hope to have time to resume quilting someday.
