Brief Intro

Dr. Block attended the University of Arizona for pre-doctoral training, completed a one-year internship at Baylor College of Dentistry, and earned his DDS cum laude from the Medical College of Virginia in 1989. He completed his surgical residency at LSU School of Dentistry and has since been in private practice in Midlothian, teaching at VCU’s Department of Periodontics, and engaging in clinical and scientific research. A diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and a Fellow of the American Society of Osseointegration, Dr. Block has been recognized as one of Richmond's top periodontists by Richmond Magazine and Virginia Living Magazine. He serves on the editorial board of the Virginia Dental Journal and is the founder and president of the James River Study Club, a continuing education forum for dentists and staff. In his free time, Dr. Block enjoys competitive athletics, fishing, culinary pursuits, and spending time with his three daughters.
