Following a medical-surgical internship at Tufts Medical Center at Brockton, he completed ophthalmology residency at the New England Eye Center in Boston, where he was Chief Resident. Dr. Monson has authored numerous research articles in major peer-reviewed ophthalmic journals and has presented award-winning research at national meetings. He is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, The American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the International Society of Refractive Surgery. Dr Monson is the founder of the Non Profit, Insight Humanitarian. The campaign works to provide sight-restoring surgeries to the blind in developing nations. Dr. Monson resides in Mesa, Arizona. Besides spending time with his family, he enjoys serving in his church community, biking, skiing, canyoneering, and distance running.
