Bruce A. Salzberg, M.D., F.A.C.G. is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the State University of Buffalo in New York and began his medical training at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, N.Y. After completing his training in internal medicine at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Fla., he completed fellowships in gastroenterology at Washington, D.C. Veterans Administration Hospital, George Washington University Hospital and at Bethesda Naval Hospital in Baltimore, MD. With a special interest in inflammatory bowel disease, Dr. Salzberg has lectured internationally on the subject and has appeared as a medical expert on both national television and radio programs. He recently completed his fourth series of lectures throughout Japan on Crohns disease. In 1996, Dr. Salzberg was appointed to the Olympic medical support group for the Atlanta Games and served as a volunteer for the Para-Olympic Games later that year. He is a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology and a member of the American Gastroenterology Association, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the American Liver Foundation. He also is a member of the Crohn's Colitis Foundation of America and has served on its board of trustees and medical advisory committee. his regular practice, Dr. Salzberg serves as medical director of Atlanta Gastroenterology Specialists and is one of the largest gastroenterological research divisions in the southeast. He has conducted over 100 clinical trials in all aspects of gastroenterology and serves as a consultant on the advisory boards of numerous pharmaceutical companies. Dr. Salzberg joined the practice in 1992 and sees patients at the Saint Joseph's (Atlanta/Sandy Springs), Alpharetta, and Johns Creek locations.
