With a background spanning emergency rooms, hospitalist medicine, and outpatient internal medicine, Dr. Gayle has honed his expertise, specializing in diabetes and hypertension management At Sage Health, he continues his commitment to serving seniors, emphasizing the significance of lifestyle choices and preventive measures to ensure each patient lives life to the fullest.
Born and raised in Whistler, Alabama, Dr. Gayle's journey in medicine began with a passion for his community's well-being. He pursued his medical education at Morehouse School of Medicine and Tennessee State University, followed by a residency at Louisiana University Medical Center in New Orleans. His return to his hometown reflects his enduring dedication to providing accessible healthcare to his roots.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Dr. Gayle finds joy in his personal life. Married for two decades and a proud parent of two adult children, he cherishes family time. In his leisure moments, Dr. Gayle indulges in strategic games like chess, enjoys bowling, and relishes friendly competitions at the pool table.

Our CEO, John Haskell, found his calling when his father was hospitalized for over a month. During this time, his primary care provider was nowhere to be found. Specialists came in & out, some never read the medical records, and the hospital pharmacy accidentally over-dosed him while he was critically ill. No one was accountable for his well-being and the family had to intervene on his behalf.
Although he fully recovered, the experience had a lasting impact on John Haskell. Driven to ensure that other seniors would never be treated this way, he founded Sage Health.
Sage Health was founded in 2022, but our team has been serving seniors for many, many years. Our team has built over 50 senior-focused clinics in the past that now serve more than 60,000 seniors in communities across the United States.
