Dr. Ben Sutter DMD, FAGD As a neuromuscular dentist, Dr. Sutter uses cutting-edge technology to diagnose and treat problems relating to jaw alignment. Our Salem, OR office is the only one of its kind in the surrounding area, so patients are referred and travel to us from Portland, all over Oregon, and beyond. Relieving pain and providing restored overall health through balanced, functional oral health is Dr. Sutter's main goal, which he accomplishes with a gentle touch and caring manner. "As a highly trained general dentist in the diagnosis and treatment of TMJ, my practice is highly focused on treating the symptoms of TMD (temporomandibular joint dysfunction) -- migraine headaches, head and neck discomfort, and TMJ tension headaches. I have gained a very unique perspective into the field of TMD, headaches, migraines, whiplash related TMD. I have trained with experts in the TMD field from various disciplines in medicine and dentistry.  I bring a unique, multidisciplinary approach using techniques and concepts from physicians, ear nose and throat doctors, neurologists, chiropractors, physical therapists, dentists, and natural health practitioners.   Our office incorporates the knowledge of these specialties to help you find true relief from your TMJ symptoms, tension headaches, migraine headaches, and head and neck pain.  Our therapy is non-surgical, and most of our patients have come to us after seeking pain relief elsewhere.  I have patients that have seen every specialty of medicine and diversity of care giver available.  It is not uncommon for patients to have been seeking relief from their symptoms for years, even decades." -Dr. Ben Sutter Education and Accomplishments Dr. Sutter received a BA in Psychology as well as a BS in Biology from the University of Nevada at Las Vegas. He earned his DMD from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, where he received numerous academic awards. While in New Jersey, he completed a one year, hospital-based residency at Overlook Hospital in Summit. Dr. Sutter is the author of articles and abstracts and has vast clinical, research, and teaching experience.
