Dr. Bejan Joe Daneshfar, MD

The Acute & Chronic Pain and Spine Center (ACPSC) in Amarillo, TX is led by B.J. Daneshfar, M.D., an experienced anesthesiologist and spinal specialist trained in pain treatment/management. He serves as the Medical Director and is certified by several boards in the United States including BCABA, BCCERA, DAAPM, DABPM and the World Institute of Pain. Dr. Daneshfar completed his undergraduate work at Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield, MO. He earned degrees in Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, and Physics Sciences. His studies also included Electronics, Biophysics, and Transistor Transistor Logics (TTL). He completed medical school to earn his M.D. degree at the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO. He served as a pain specialist in the Pain Center at Willford Hall U.S. Air Force Medical Center on Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Daneshfar also started the pain management clinic at Northwest Texas Healthcare System in 1990. He was the Director of the Department of Anesthesia at Northwest Texas Healthcare System until 1996. He has been the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer of the Texas Anesthesia Group PA, Texas Anesthesiology Group PA, Steam Boat Medical Developments, and the New Horizons Physician Practice Management Inc. in Amarillo, Texas.ACPSC's mission is a strong commitment to providing excellent individualized care in a compassionate and empathetic manner by taking into consideration the medical, psycho-social, economic, physical, and spiritual needs of the patient. ACPSC includes the expertise of Dr. Daneshfar as well as Dr. Brian Murrell and Howard Kagan, PA-C. To complement our excellent team at ACPSC, we have our own licensed physical therapist, Mitch Watson.For each individual, our care is a continuum from simplest of care without any invasive procedures, i.e. physical therapy, injections, blocks, to more complex interventions, i.e. rhizotomy, Lase, IDET, spinal column stimulators. Our goal is to treat the patient with a minimum of what is required for maximum recovery without major, invasive surgical means. This has been shown, in our experience and practice, to be the most cost effective as well as successful treatment method. More complex and invasive procedures are utilized in the care of our patients only if they become necessary.
