Dr. Harper has been in practice for more than 19 years and is Board Certified by The American Board of Surgery in General Surgery and by the American Board of Thoracic Surgeons in Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery. Dr Harper has had 19 years thoracic surgery experience and 19 years in Video Assisted Thorascopic (VATS) surgery for lung cancer and other lung diseases. He has done research in lung transplantation, and has coauthored several lung research articles. His board certification qualifies him to perform coronary bypass and complex valve repairs and replacement, vascular surgery and carotid endarterectomies. Also Electrophysiologic Surgery including the Cox-Maze procedure for atrial fibrillation and pain control operations with Transmyocardial Revascularization. He also performs resection of lung tumors and minimally invasive lung surgery. He is a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons and the American College of Chest Physicians.
