Brief Intro

Dr. Andrew Reichert originates from the Albany area. He did his undergraduate work at Johns Hopkins University and first came to Buffalo in 1983 to pursue his medical doctorate, which he received from the State University of New York at Buffalo, School of Medicine Program, in 1987. He then did his medical internship and residency in Psychiatry at Strong Memorial Hospital and the University of Rochester. After spending a year in New Hampshire following his residency, Dr. Reichert decided to return to Buffalo in 1992, where he worked doing psychiatric consultations on the medical/surgical service at The Buffalo General Hospital and was involved in teaching medical students and residents. He also served as an outpatient consultant to Health Care Plan/Univera, in addition to building his private practice. Dr. Reichert joined Suburban Psychiatric Associates, LLP at its inception in 1996. He is board certified and maintains his practice in general adult psychiatry. Although most of his practice consists of psychopharmacologic medication management, Dr. Reichert maintains an interest in psychodynamic psychotherapy, as well as the biologic and psychotherapeutic treatment of mood disorders and post-traumatic stress disorder.
