Amy Christine Baruch is a native of the Washington D.C. area. She received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Notre Dame and a M.S. in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Arizona, where she also received her medical degree. Dr. Baruch completed two years of general surgical training at the University of Utah, then returned to the University of Arizona where she completed her training in pathology. She also completed a fellowship in cytopathology at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. Dr. Baruch is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and Cytopathology. She currently serves as the Lab Director of Cytopathology for Celligent Diagnostics.
Dr. Baruch has interests in gynecologic pathology, breast pathology, and cytopathology, and has been actively involved in research in these areas during her training. She serves on many committees at Spartanburg Regional Hospital, including the Breast Advisory Committee, Thoracic Advisory Committee, and Clinical Research Committee. She serves as the Medical Director for the Wallace Thompson Hospital laboratory in Union, S.C.. In addition, she is the Medical Director for the Microbiology laboratory at Spartanburg Regional.
