He obtained his Medical Degree from University of Illinois, and continued his training at University Hospitals Case Medical Center and Henry Ford Hospital. He then completed his specialized Pain Medicine Fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital. Dr. Upadhyay is a board certified physician in both Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. Dr. Upadhyay is a leader in pain management research and has consistently been known to be an advocate for chronic pain patients. He specializes in all facets of Pain Management, including but not limited to medication management, epidurals, nerve blocks, nerve ablations, spinal cord stimulators, minimally invasive lumbar decompression, spinal stenosis, interspinous spacers, peripheral neuropathy, cancer pain, kyphoplasty, vertebroplasty, spine jack, platelet rich plasma, stem cell therapy, stem cell injections, and all joint injections. Dr. Upadhyay is recognized as being constantly up to date on the latest developments in the field of medicine and chronic pain. In the metro Detroit area he is credited with training many of the pain physicians in Oakland County and many more nationally.
