Dr. Mercer graduated within the top five percent of his class from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Duke University Medical Center. He received his Cardiology Fellowship from the University of North Carolina prior to joining Owensboro Health Cardiology in 1984. He was elected to serve as a Governor for the American College of Cardiology (ACC) Kentucky Chapter in 2004 through 2007 and was a past member of the ACC Political Action Committee Board. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC). Dr. Mercer specializes in non-invasive diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease.
