Alan O. Blanton, DDS, MS
Dr. Blanton has practiced dentistry in Collierville for over 25
years. Upon graduation from the University Of Tennessee
College Of Dentistry in 1983, he opened his office with an
emphasis on restorative and cosmetic dentistry.
In May of 2005 he received a Masters degree from the
department of Counseling, Educational Psychology and
Research in the College of Education at the University of
Memphis. He lectures nationally on various topics for dental
professionals and dental students and continues to study and
write on topics concerning the emotional and physical well-being
of those involved in the healthcare professions.
In his leisure time, his hobbies include; woodworking, art, golf,
playing the guitar, fly-tying and fly-fishing.
He holds active memberships in many professional organizations including:

o The Tennessee Dental Association
o The Memphis Dental Society
o The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry
o The Academy of Computerized Dentistry of North America
o The American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine
o The American Counseling Association
Dr. Blanton’'s immediate future educational plans include working towards certification as a diplomat of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and to begin providing treatment for patients with mild to moderate sleep related breathing disorders such as snoring and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) by use of oral appliances in conjunction with the Physicians at an accredited Sleep Disorders Clinic.
