Board certified in anesthesiology and critical care medicine by the American Board of Anesthesiology, Dr. Adam Birek has been practicing anesthesiology and pediatric critical care at Childrens since 1983. An active member of Childrens medical staff, Dr. Birek served as Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology, Chair of the Critical Care Committee and as a member of the Executive Committee at the Hospital. He also served in an administrative capacity as Chief of Anesthesiology at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Fresno for two years.
