Ali Bukhari, MD, MS, is a medical oncologist and hematologist at Maryland Oncology Hematology. Dr. Bukhari earned a Bachelor of Science in molecular biology from University of Connecticut before receiving a Master of Medical Science from Drexel University and a Master of Science in clinical nutrition from Columbia University. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School during which he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He completed his internal medicine residency at Wright State University/Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. Dr. Bukhari went on to complete a dual fellowship in hematology and medical oncology at University of Maryland’s Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center where he served as chief fellow.
Dr. Bukhari is board certified in hematology, medical oncology, and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is an active member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology.
In 2022, Dr. Bukhari was awarded the Silver Certificate of Excellence by the NIH/National Cancer Institute Community Oncology Research Program (NCORP) for exceptional achievement in patient enrollment in the National Cancer Institute Treatment and Cancer Control, Prevention, and Screening Trials. He is published in top-tier journals including publications in the Journal of Clinical Oncology and Blood Advances.
Before joining Maryland Oncology Hematology, Dr. Bukhari served as an active duty staff hematologist and medical oncologist with the United States Air Force at Wright Patterson Air Force Base attaining the rank of Major. During this time, he also served as an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine.
Dr. Bukhari lives in Anne Arundel County with his wife and two children. He enjoys skiing, hiking, and camping.
